Baby Girl Kester and I went for our 16 week visit today with Dr. Moore at Piedmont OB. We were both doing great! My uterus measures two finger widths below my belly button! I knew my uterus felt big! Because I am so short, Dr. Moore said that I will obviously run out of room more quickly. Her heartbeat sounded fabulous and all of my check up went well. I had an Alpha Feto Protein (AFP) drawn today (bloodwork) to screen her for Neural Tube Defects (like spina bifida.)The test takes a couple of weeks to come back. I also had a quick ultrasound and the sonographer agrees that SHE is a SHE. Again, NO boy parts! :) I still can't feel her move, but that should come within the next couple of weeks. I CAN NOT wait! Today she was sitting straight up with her head at the top of my uterus and her feet down near my bladder. She will eventually turn, but for now she is happily floating where ever she likes.
My next visit is scheduled for April 15. I am returning to Dr. Greig (Maternal Fetal Medicine) for my 20 week anatomy survery (ultrasound), and then to Dr. Moore for my 20 week check up.
I'm so glad that she is doing so well! I love her so much already, and I want her to be as healthy and happy as possible!!! :)
