39 weeks and holding strong! My uterus must feel like a waterfront suite at the Sanctuary because Baby Anna is as happy and as comfortable as she can be in there! I saw Dr. Moore this morning and my cervix is still closed. Soft but closed. Of course things can change in an instant, like breaking my water, but he said that I'll most likely be back next week for my 40 week visit. So I'm scheduled to see him again next Tuesday. Dr. Moore also said that this is no 6 pound baby...he thinks she may be petite but fat, and guesses around 8 lbs at delivery. I love to picture her fat little cheeks.
Looks like I'll be watching football from home and not from the hospital this weekend! One more week of patience, Anna, and then we are coming in after you!!!
"In my daughter's eyes I can see the future A reflection of who I am And what will be And though she'll grow And someday leave Maybe raise a family When I'm gone I hope you see How happy she made me For I'll be there In my daughter's eyes" Martina McBride

Rub A Dub Dub: MK and Layla in the Tub

Okay, this is no joke. Everyone knows how big I am getting at 38 weeks and 5 days gestation. I was having one of my baths in our luxurious whirlpool tub (a.k.a. the 2 gallon, 2 feet wide, 4 feet long porcelain type from the 1950's) during the rain storm today. I've always loved baths, and now with this heavy tummy they feel even better (all be it cooler in temperature.) Everyone knows how much Layla hates rain, thunder, and especially lightening. Well there was no lightening today (I would NOT have been in the tub during a lightening storm!) but Layla can smell a raindrop 50 miles away, and reacts like a maniac. Well today she helped me prepare a little bit better for motherhood. Mom has always said that the minute you become a mother you have kissed privacy good-bye; never again expect to go to the bathroom, have a bath, or make a phone call without somebody bothering you. So I heard a good loud clap of thunder and Layla came flying into the bathroom, just shaking, and decided to gently glide into the bathtub with me and lay down. I know y'all think Layla is small, but she is not small enough to get into the tub with me! Well I was basically done but needed to wash my face, so I quickly did so just as the water was turning a pale orange/brown color. What was she thinking! She hates baths!
